Davis pitched two scoreless innings today with three strikeouts. Since Brault had a so so outing yesterday and Ningham was hit hard by the Phillies today, possibly Davis will join the group for the fifth starting pitcher. It sure would be better if they signed Gio Gonzalez and he would join the rotation.

And Lyles did not distinguish himself at all today vs. NYY. 7H, 2BB, 3R in 3 innings. Ick.
That said, Rookie's one short start, while encouraging, isn't enough to pencil him into the starting rotation.

You can’t gauge much of anything from how pitchers perform in spring training. They can be working on some pitch, or doing who knows what. Davis apparently has good stuff - the question is whether he can improve his control.
