Jeff Locke-Should be waived!

This thought that he was never any good is hogwash.  He had a heck of a run during the first half of his all star season and has had flashes where he pitches well.   I think he will tirn out to be a zach duke type of player that started for a period of time and settles in to a bullpen role.   You can really only count on him one time through a lineup.

He did have a short period a few years ago where he got good results, but, as I said earlier in the thread, he has a negative WAR for his career that now spans several years. If you think he's going to find a role, that's cool, but the point that he has no current value to anyone should seem clear.

That potential bullpen role might be one reason the Pirates hang onto him. That and the hope of getting something for him over the winter. It's hard to give up assets without getting something in return.
