MLB didn't say who will be at 4 PM and who will be at 5 PM.

Don't be disgruntled. Be gruntled.

I'm finding today's game (Saturday) as a computer feed with Braves announcers (pretty good) at pirateball.com.
Re: 2025 Spring Training
Pretty quiet since spring training started. I wonder why?
New guy Heaney shakey again. Good to see the Bucs score two on Skubal.
ST as a whole seems to be pretty quiet throughout MLB. Probably the biggest news so far is with the Yankees with Cole and Stanton elbow issues.

I hate to see any players get injured, but if both Cole and Stanton miss the Pirates Opening Home Series, I would sign up for that. Maybe the Pirates could take two out of three.Surgnbuck wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 12:26 am Pretty quiet since spring training started. I wonder why?

Though they're going a second opinion, Cole is done for the year, will need TJ. Stanton is to get PRP injections, but they aren't going to be a fix. DJ LeMahieu is also injured, and will likely be missing a of games this season, and probably missing all of April. Loaisiga is injured and best chance of return is May. Yankees will have 87.5 million worth of salary not in uniform, just with those three guys. Add that Luis Gil is out until June, the Yankees are in a bad spot.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 12:35 amI hate to see any players get injured, but if both Cole and Stanton miss the Pirates Opening Home Series, I would sign up for that. Re: 2025 Spring Training
Wow even for a team like the Yankees that is a ton of money to pay for players who will be on the IL for a portion or all of the season. Actually that is current team Pirates payroll this season. That is crazy! The Bucs payroll is similar to what the Yankees will pay to players unavailable to play for all or part of this season.Surgnbuck wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 6:57 pmThough they're going a second opinion, Cole is done for the year, will need TJ. This is one of the big reasons why Nutting limits the money he pays his players. He hates paying for labor to begin with, paying them while they can’t play must make him apopleptic. (I’ve waited all my life to use that word in a sentence.)fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 7:52 pmWow even for a team like the Yankees that is a ton of money to pay for players who will be on the IL for a portion or all of the season. Keller hit a rough patch yesterday. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. He does seem to run hot and cold.

Bae with a really nice ST so far. New, more upright batting stance seems to be paying off for him. Obviously headed back to AAA for more innings in CF as he learns to play it better, but he will probably see some MLB time this year and hopefully he can finally make it more successful than in the past.
