Just thought I'd post a thread to move on from the off season thread. I can't remember if we did it this way or not. Anyhow, my thoughts are a thread about the goings on of spring training.
Just an FYI the Pirates are on MLB Network Saturday at 1pm against the Orioles. IDK if this will be an ABS challenge game, not every ST game will have it. Sounds interesting, apparently it's been a huge hit with the fans in the minors. They talked about it on MLBN this morning. It won't be used in the regular season, at least in 2025 it won't.
Let's Go Bucs!!!

Re: 2025 Spring Training
Joe Starkey ripped baseball’s inequities and Nutting’s lack of a commitment to winning in the Post-Gazette this morning. Those things need to be said over and over by more people in the media.
Re: 2025 Spring Training
They had some guy from MLB that's part of the people in charge of this, and this was a major part of the discussion on Hot Stove. The problem with going by a stance is if a guy just crouches down to get the smaller zone, but then stands erect. I think going by height is the easiest way to go, but they are gathering all kinds of different data. Also, most people don't know how exactly the zone is set up either. It was a really good discussion, and they are going to be taking into account the players response to this, as the size of the zone will be an issue.
