Can someone tell me how Cruz was retired at 3rd base? I have a fairly good idea how it happened but I’d like someone to tell me just the same.

He veered toward the infield grass to avoid running into the 3Bman who had fielded the ball and was throwing to 2B. The ball skimmed off Cruz's helmet but still made it to 2B for the force. I think they called Cruz for running out of the baseline. But there wasn't anything else he could do except run into the 3Bman.

Jefferies with a nice 8th inning, despite a leadoff walk, as he throws just 10 pitches getting a a strikeout and a double play.

Thanks. I thought maybe he rounded third casually and the ball was thrown behind him after the putout at second and he was caught off the base.

Okay, okay, what’s going on here? Grandal with a HR? Is it Opposite Day?
