Official Game Thread - 7/5 - Bucs vs Mets

Post by Possum »

Mets

SS F. Lindor S
LF B. Nimmo L
DH J. Martinez R
1B Pete Alonso R
RF DJ Stewart L
C F. Alvarez R
3B J. Iglesias R
2B Jeff McNeil L
CF H. Bader R
SP Luis Severino R

Bucs

RF J. Palacios L
DH B. Reynolds S
SS Oneil Cruz L
1B Rowdy Tellez L
2B N. Gonzales R
LF J. Suwinski L
3B K. Hayes R
C Y. Grandal S
CF M. Taylor R
SP Paul Skenes

Time for the Skenes Express. Shelty has a lineup full of wannabee MLB players. Can the Bucs figure out Severino and hope that Skenes can go 6? Can the BP hold on for a win?

Well I don't lose interest until we head way south. 4 games under the magical .500. Curious what the crowd will be like tonight with Skenes going for us. Will they be in Luau shirts???

They brought up Palacios in the hope that he could help the offense. So for his first start, they bench Cutch so that both Taylor (.190) and Suwinski (.180) can start. If Palacios can help, wouldn't the lineup be better with Cutch instead of 1 of those other 2? The thought process of Pirate management is bizarre.

Tonight is the bucket hat night. Probably be people in past Hawaiian shirts. Hawaiian shirt give away is tomorrow afternoon, kids beach towel on Sunday. I want all three, won't get none of them. Work tonight, going to a concert tomorrow, and Sunday I can't pass for 14 and under.

Saw that lineup and felt the same exact thing.
Great to see Palacios in the lineup but why take out Cutch.
Does Shelton have a mandatory number of batters that must be below .200 in the lineup?

Speaking of give aways if the Bucs can’t pull a sellout tonight or tomorrow with Skenes and the give ways then that is pretty sad.
Disappointed in the attendance at the Cardinal series.
