Jeesh Shelty, you now seem to have manlove for Gonzalez instead of Tom. Why do you rest the best hitter on the team and an AS game ballot finalist?

I guess Shelton had to start a LH OFer so he chose Polanco over Gamel. Gamel only had 3 hits yesterday. Gamel has now had two 3-hit games and was benched both times for the next game.

Now, now, Possum, it’s a long flight from St. Louis to Denver, too much for a young, fit young man like Adam Frazier to endure. Besides, it’s a night game following a day game. Few 2Bmen can handle that hardship.

Polanco’s heating up, Bobster. He’s one for his last four.

Bob Walk actually just said Polanco is getting hot at the right time. And then he and Brown talked about how hitting usually becomes more prevalent in warmer weather and when players don't hit early in the season it's often just because the weather hasn't warmed up. Sure. That's why Polanco doesn't hit.
Polanco has gone 1 for 4 in 4 of his last 6 games and in that span is 4 for 20. So by hitting .200 lately he heating up at the right time. Last year Polanco hit .091 in frigid July but heated up to hit .118 in August.

Somewhere, some contending GM's are losing sleep over what they'll have to pony up to get the hot-hitting Polanco onto their roster

If Gonzalez is the utility infielder, why does Newman have to switch to 2B after playing an errorless SS all season so that Gonzalez can play SS?

Polanco turns a single into a run scoring triple. I guess he's not heating up just yet.
