Exactly. Matt Adams would've been an offensive upgrade over any player the Pirates were trotting out there. There were people here (including Dog) that wanted Bell to move to RF. Adams would've been a good enough upgrade to move Bell to RF.

Matt Adams would have helped a ton. But they didn't want to move Bell to the outfield. Osuna and Jaso are better fielders at first than Bell but Bell played first when in the line up together.

Then send Adams out there he couldn't have been any worse than Jaso or Osuna.

Don't forget about the division factor. The Cardinals wouldn't have traded Adams to help the Pirates. If it would have happened, the Cardinals would have wanted a much better return.



I would have put Adams in the outfield over Jaso and Osuna. Heck, Adams is the type of guy I wanted on the bench before the season started.
