Yesterday the Pirates led 3-1 early, had 21 baserunners and left the world on base. And lost. A blown opportunity.

And today we go up 5-0 in top 1st.

We HAVE to win this game. But I'll go ahead and say it now ... I don't have a good feeling.

If the Pirates lose this game, I may cry. And I haven't cried because of a sporting event since I was a kid and North Carolina lost to Marquette in the 1977 NCAA title game.

I sure wish the Pirates could just make things easy for once and take care of this game with no drama.

Nice insurance run. JHay single. Advances on a hit and run. Cutch singles him home. Good baseball.

Good to see Cutch getting walks and hits. Now he steals 2nd.

Cutch with the RBI single to make it 6-1...then he stole second.

Even his outs this series have been mostly well struck line drives...it appears he might have found something...

The Pirates made a very poor decision removing Kuhl from the rotation about a month ago when he pitched that gem against the Nats. He should have been pitching up here ever since that game. Instead the Pirates played around and started Jeff Locke I believe 3 extra times when Kuhl could have been the one making those starts and potentially winning those games that Locke was terrible in.

Just like Josh Bell still not being up here just poor roster management by the Pirates that I believe has costs them several games in a race that is very tight where every win going forward is going to matter.

Kuhl caps off a great start with a very impressive finish to the 6th.

With Glasnow on the road back now too, I'm feeling pretty good about this rotation down the stretch...assuming Hurdle doesn't just randomly decide to give Locke a start...

Agreed. Even today on his radio show Neal would not commit to Kuhl staying in the rotation. I don't get it at all. But for one start he's been excellent this summer. His era is down to 3.73. He's using 3 pitches. No walks today. Why is Neal/Clint so reserved about Kuhl?

Because they're desperately searching for a spot to get Locke back in the rotation!

Why put in Polanco? Up six runs, could score more. He is banged up. Weird move.

It is 10-3 Pirates. Rodriguez, Harrison, Kang will all good days at the plate.
