If it were my call, I would go out and sign Todd Frazier to a 2 year deal. I know this would be a big move on the part of the front office. Read this through in its entirety first…

Have Todd play 3rd, Harrison play 2nd. Mercer play SS, and Cervelli and Diaz do the catching…

Don't go out and sign another outfielder...Start Marte, Cutch and Polanco and when they need a breather use Adam Frazier or Josh Harrison or Sean Rod.

Your bench would be Adam Frazier as your LH Bench complement to RH-Sean Rodriguez, and SH-Max Morhoff. Have the three back up your infield and OF.

That is a very decent bench with some pop!

Have Jordan Luplow play a ton of games at Triple AAA with Austin Meadows...To prepare for 2019...to replace Cutch as I just don't feel the Bucs will shell out big $$ to keep Cutch a Buc...

I would not bank on David Freese contributing much either. The guy is a good fielder, good fellow, and a leader…he did finish in the top finalists for Gold Glove for 3rd basemen this past season, but he is going to be 35 years old this coming April. I just don't see Freese discovering the fountain of youth at the friendly confines of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers. Freese could back up 3rd and 1st.

You have a few young players coming up in Newman, Kramer, Cole and Hayes who could possibly fit in at middle infield spots at 2b, SS and 3rd. A 2 year deal for Frazier to play 3b would be a big addition to the power lacking lineup…Give Polanco, Marte a chance to regroup and rediscover whatever it is that is hindering their productivity. Allow Adam Frazier to show if he is the real deal and play him all over the diamond. I think the kid can hit, he seems to get on base, and he looked to be developing some pop as well in 2017.

With the front office wanting to get the biggest bang for their buc, this makes the most sense to me personally. We all know No Can Deal Neal will not deal any prospects for a proven big leaguer. If the team stays as it is, we will be repeating 2017 season again in my opinion regardless of Marte, Cervelli, Polanco’s health.

Add a couple relievers—Addison Reed would be my pick and another lefty to the bullpen. Your Starting Rotation would be Cole, Tallion, Nova, Williams and Kuhl…Kingham and Glasnow and Keller would be at Triple AAA getting their experience. Surely one of them will pan out as a starter.

Have Rivero do the closing with Kontas, Neverauskas, Santana, Brault filling out the pen…with Addison Reed and another lefty.

That would be my take on the 2018 season 8-)

I am all aboard and agree with that plan. Bring in a 3B and RPs.

You know I left Daniel Hudson off the bullpen list. I was not impressed with him last year. He seemed like a big inning giver every time he got into a game. My heart tells me to give the guy another shot, but I don't know if he will show much more...He has a live arm, but dang he is all over the place...Time will tell :D

If he does what he did last year, I'd try him starting and make him work for his money. I thought they should use him a couple of times as a starter just to try something anything to get him straightened out.

Hudson hasn't been a starter since 2012? He is a failed starter and why he is in the bullpen.

He isn't a back of the end bullpen pitcher. The Pirates need relief help.
