Cool moment for Gift last night. He looked nervous when he got out there. There was a pitching change and he didn't know what to do. Mercer gave him a ball to warm up. Harrison was talking to him before he got the ball to warm up. Just cool to see.

Thanks so much for finding this link. I was working late last night and watching as he came to bat. I grabbed one of my office mates and told him this was baseball history in the making. I'm really glad I can send him this link to read the back story I had read so many years ago. What a great moment. I was so proud of both Gift and for the Bucs. It has always seemed that Gift was family to our franchise in a very special way. "We are family" seems even more appropo when things like this happen.
