Watching him sobbing on the mound was far worse than any outcome to this game. Best wishes to him, but his reaction was really ominous. He has already had TJ once and knows what that reality means.

I did not see this coming at all. Thought we had the win on the bag.

Yeah. After seeing that, the game became meaningless. Looked like a freak but very severe injury.

I turned it off. What happened to Burdi? Was just about to write that a good old-fashioned ass kicking might be good for this team.

Yea when it was 4-1 with Musgrove on the mound I thought there was no way they would lose this game. Boy this did this one get away from them tonight which sucks after such a great first 4-5 innings. Gotta comeback and win 2 of these next 3 games at least in this series.

We don't know yet. He threw a pitch and then fell to the ground, doubled over in pain, clutching his right bicep and crying. I can only guess the muscle was torn or the bone was broken.

I just went back and rewatched it. I'm not a doctor. Looked like he was grasping his bicep. Muscle injury would be a lot better than ligament. That sucks. Great, tough kid. Tough break. Hope Brault didn't get too far. Maybe he hung around to watch the game with Indy having an off day.

Shuck pitches a scoreless 9th. That was interesting. Good for Hurdle. At 12-4 the game is lost and the team is rightfully more concerned with Burdi's health than with the outcome of the game. At least Shuck saved the BP from pitching another inning.

Hopefully. Broken bone or muscle tear could cost him the year, but should have him back for ST next year, I'd imagine. TJ would cost him a calendar year, and being his second, could potentially be career-threatening.
