Slots vs Baseball
The legislature recently approved additional satellite casinos in Pennsylvania. Could it be possible that Bob Nutting would like to have slot machines etc at Seven Springs and therefore as a baseball owner he would have to forgo his ownership in the Pirates. Would the revenue from gambling outweigh the revenue from owning a Major League Baseball team? There is still that prestige of being one of 30 people to own a team.

STILL don't think that Bob Nutting owns the Pirates for revenue. There are way more ways to make lots more money with way fewer headaches.
Now maybe he's just banking on a giant sale price. That's possible. But I think he just likes owning a team.

When he bought the resort, Nutting's plan was to add slots. He dropped the idea because it would require him to sell his stake in the Pirates. So he's already made that choice.
