I have posted previously that I thought the biggest mistake BC made besides not getting more legitimate hitting was not resigning Chapman. I thought it was probably due to the fact that Chapman didn’t want to come back. After reading the attached article, it angers me that BC did not even contact Chapman about returning. He should be fired for that alone. With the season that Chapman is having in Boston we could easily have had 3-5 more wins aready this season if he was still on the roster and battling the Cubs for first instead of residing in the NL Central basement.

Re: Chapman revisited
I also thought it was more because chapman wanted to leave. But it appears that wasn't the case. But the Pirates just didn't want to pay him. No surprise there.JollyRoger8 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 4:38 pm https://pittsburghbaseballnow.com/arold ... e_vignette

Can anyone here play this game?
Re: Chapman revisited
it is doubley bad as the team didn't deal him last year. The team used his money on Tommy Pham and Frazier even though every one in the world except the Bucco brain trust new that was a bad idea.Bobster wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 5:39 pmI also thought it was more because chapman wanted to leave. Re: Chapman revisited
Is Tommy Pham and Frazier worth 5 WAR?
That is what you lost in Chapman this year.
I don’t inderstand the mind set of BC. Instead of going after quality he continues to pursue a quantity of mediocrity.
Where does that get you?

Re: Chapman revisited
It gets you a win total of about 64 on the season, about what we can expect with a roster built with these guys.JollyRoger8 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 1:29 am Is Tommy Pham and Frazier worth 5 WAR?
