Classic Baseball Era Hall of Fame election

I don't think this has been posted here. Dave Parker's on a ballot for December 8 election. There's eight players on the ballot, 16 voters. Eligible players had their biggest impact on baseball before 1980. They are: Negro Leaguers Vic Harris and John Donaldson, Dick Allen, Ken Boyer, Parker, Steve Garvey, Tommy John, and Luis Tiant. Three-fourths of the votes are needed for induction.

Edit: The BBWAA's regular voting is ongoing. Russell Martin made the ballot this year.

While I imagine many, if not most, Pirates fans feel Dave Parker should be in the Hall, I’d guess the same could be said by Cardinals fans when it comes to Ken Boyer, and Dodgers fans regarding Steve Garvey and Tommy John. All of these guys seem more suited to the Hall of Really Good players, but fans in several cities would disagree, I’m sure.

They keep changing the categories, so previous votes are of limited use. The last time they were on a ballot, in 2022, Harris drew 10 votes and Donaldson 8, but that was on a ballot of real old timers.

I think Allen has come within one vote twice in the last decade. Tiant's recent death could have an impact. Among the guys who played in the 60s and 70s, I think Parker got more votes recently than anyone but Allen - 7 in 2020.
