Haines Not Being Retained
It is being reported that Andy Haines is not returning as the Pirates batting coach. Bullpen coach Justin Mccage not returning.
Re: Haines Not Being Retained
Haines should not have been retained. So at least Pirates made a good move there.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 3:37 am It is being reported that Andy Haines is not returning as the Pirates batting coach. Bullpen coach Justin Mccage not returning.
Re: Haines Not Being Retained
I wonder exactly what a bullpen coach does that they stand out to be fired? Isn't that kind of a position that comes and goes with part of a coaches personal entourage of coaches?
Re: Haines Not Being Retained
Strength and conditioning coach Adam Vish is also out. It couldn't be because the Pirates weren't rested enough!
There's no basement in the Alamo.

Destin is gaslighting Pirate fans. I would not want GMBC making the decision. It goes back to GMBC and his unsuccessful days in Boston.
Let's Go Bucs
Re: Haines Not Being Retained
The Pirates hitting was bad and it makes sense to replace Haines. However, he is more of a scapegoat for organizational failure. Shelton used to be a hitting coach so to me it is a failure of Shelton/Haines and then on Ben C. for hiring them.

Re: Haines Not Being Retained
As far as I know I have not seen any information in which Andy Haines has signed on with another team. I guess other teams must know that he does not qualify as a strong hitting coach. He will probably end up somewhere, but not as a MLB hitting coach.
