So anyone know of any Hayes and his low back news? The only transaction regarding the Pirates is Eli Villalobos was claimed off waivers by the Marlins, who had originally DFA'd him in April when the Pirates claimed him.

Interesting, Yahoo sports has the Padres starter as Reiss Knehr.

The Pirates have scored the fewest runs in the NL but surprisingly have more hits than the Padres (599 to 594). The teams are 13th and 14th in the NL in hits. SD started the season with Austin Nola as their catcher. But he's hitting worse than Hedges. Nola is at .142. I guess he's not much of a pitch framer. ;)

They are due to break out of it in a big way. I predict a 2 for 20 day from that group. Woo-hoo!

When the Pirates put their lineup out later, the old "check back later" message, I was wondering if we might be seeing Triolo being brought up and Castro being sent down.

CBS Sports just has Hayes listed as getting another day off. If he isn't expected to be 100% healthy, he should be put on the IL (I feel if a guy is going to miss three days, he was injured a 4th day back to set the date of the IL. This is when I say put a guy on IL)

Golden opportunity for the Pirates to give someone else a shot, let Hayes get really healed, and send a guy back to AAA to work on things there.

Well if you're predicting Hedges gets 4 AB's, that would actually be a good thing, at least on paper. No one can squander chances like the Pirates!

I envy him only being 0-4. He's played 9 games in June, and has hit in 4 of them. He's hitting .200 for the month of June. If Hedges starting hitting at that level, the FO would conclude he's a HOF candidate, what with that "ability" he has.

I can’t think of a single reason why Castro is even on the team, let alone in the line-up. They’re wasting their time with him. And about a dozen other guys.
