Jim Leyland

Post by Wildwoodcoach »

Congratulations to Jim Leyland who has been elected to
the Baseball Hall of Fame. He has always been and will always be
my favorite Baseball Manager. Will never forget his profanity laced tirade when putting
Barry Bonds in his place while other players watched. Earlier this year, Bonds praised Leyland and said they are still very close.
Much deserved!!!

Glad to see him get the honor. Wonder when the next Pirate will go in?

I don’t think either of us have enough time. I’m not sure our kids do, either.

Happy for Leyland, but he never got us to a WS.
My favorite is still the always positive and upbeat Chuck Tanner!

I always liked Jim Leyland as a manager. When the FO tore the team down, he felt he could not go through another Pirates rebuild. I respect him for that decision, and I feel he is making a good decision by not having a team hat on his Hall of Fame plaque. I wish it was a Pirate hat, but for certain the Tigers, and Marlins would be very disappointed due to the success he had with those teams. Also even the Rockies may feel slighted if he didn’t honor their team with their cap. I respect Jim’s decision regarding not having a team logo cap on his plaque.
