The Marlins lose to the Giants today 1-0. So what this now means with the Marlins being off tomorrow the Pirates have a chance with a win tonight and tomorrow afternoon against the Padres to pull within one game of the 2nd wildcard spot. You gotta take advantage of this if your the Bucs. I'm tired of seeing the Pirates piss away these golden opportunities to pick up ground in the standings. You MUST take advantage of this one with a bad Padres team in town. The Cardinals are also struggling a lot as well and after they finish up with the Reds tonight have to go to Wrigley to play 4 games against the red hot Cubs. So the Pirates once again are going to continue to get chances to possibly jump into that 2nd wildcard spot. They desperately need to take advantage of it.

Vogelsong has been pretty good as a starter (I did preach for him to start over Nicasio after Nicasio failed). 13 IP, 2 ER with 13 SOs.

This is a good series to sweep.

Edwin Jackson had the potential to be a good pitcher 6 or 7 years ago.

I don't know what's worse...the fact that we gave away runs with silly errors...or are getting no hit by a washed up bum like Jackson
