Get one at Wrigley at least stay a game or so back going into the Brewers series this weekend and this long homestand and we will be okay.

Of course I want to get 2 or even 3 games in Wrigley.

But reality says to me that a Cubs sweep is VERY possible ... so if the Pirates can just find a way to get one W and stay close to the top of the WC race I'll be happy to just get out of there and move on.

This marks the end of what we talked about being a very difficult 19-game stretch. (Following a disappointing 9-9 mark vs. the "easy" part of the schedule).

For this 19-game difficult stretch, I was hoping for 10-9 but was willing to accept 9-10.

Well, we're already 10-6, so now 10-9 is NO GOOD.

Get one win and we're 11-8 and in very good shape moving forward.

Regarding the 10-6 record to this point, incredibly the Pirates are 9-1 on the road (with 8 straight wins) and 1-5 at home.

Well, I always kinda thought Brault would match up well with the Cubs since he's a lefty and he has deceptive movement...I guess now is the time to find out...

Not a great way to start for Brault but it could have been much much worse. I hate that quick comebacker to the mound there always seems like there is a chance that the throw is going to go into centerfield.
