Kuhl streak

Post by INbuc »

During the offseason leading into 2016, mgt reminded everyone to include Chad Kuhl, along with Glasnow and Taillon, as the elite of the organization's pitching prospects. That notion is starting to look more viable. Kuhl had what I thought was his best performance Monday against the Cubs. By the time he started working in his off-speed pitches in the mid-innings, he was in complete command. A little stat analysis of the season's second half supports his progress:

Record ERA WHIP OPS

Cole 4-2 3.19 1.11 .642

Williams 3-3 3.32 1.43 .732

Kuhl 4-4 3.36 1.38 .691

Nova 2-6 6.38 1.69 .957

Taillon 2-4 7.17 1.80 .902

NL AVG 4.33 1.35 .750

Glasnow 7.45 1.91 1.000

The NL averages are for the entire year and Glasnow's stats are just for his time with the Bucs. Statistically, Cole remains the top performer and while Taillon and Nova had good first halves, Williams and Kuhl are making good progress since the break.

I hope I don't jinx Kuhl tonight, but I am certainly eager to see if he can build on his great outing from Monday.
