Who is the #4 prospect for 2018

Much closer 3rd round. 7 players got a vote and it was not a given at first, but Baz pulled away. Adding a guy who only has 8 AB before his rookie eligibility is up, who could also be a major cog on the big league team if any trades are actually made in Moroff.

Previous results:

1. Mitch Keller, 21, SP, AA (88% of the vote)

2. Austin Meadows, 22, OF, AAA (also 88% of the vote)

3. Shane Baz, 18, SP, Rookie league (34.1%)

Will admit that my Tucker vote has been influenced by an article from Kevin Creagh in The Point of Pittsburgh on "SSL". Can't provide details on SSL because Kevin writes that he is marketing the formula to some MLB teams right now, but it's cool stuff and well worth the read.

Cole Tucker has a #1 pedigree and he has opportunity in front of him. I've seen Newman in person a few times and he does not excite me, though he seems competent. I believe Tucker will succeed Mercer as our next shortstop.

Influence by both P2 and their crew of observers of the Pirates Prospects and The Point of Pittsburgh's Kevin Creagh formerly know DBS on OBN.

How ya doin' Syrbucco? Ever hear from our friend Jimbo and his baseball swing on the golf course? ;D

I picked Tucker because at this stage I think he can be an all star shortstop.

Probably would have gone with Hayes next. Have my fingers crossed that he can be healthy this season and start showing some power.

Just on stats I may have picked Hayes over Cole but at this stage I'm not confident in his ability to continue to steal bases.

I had the two pretty close together but went with Hayes. Power tends to develop later for some, plus he was held back last year by the injury recovery.

Cole is the easy choice here.

I'm also not impressed with Hayes at this point. He will need to make a big jump in offensive production with the move to Altoona for me to consider him a future major leaguer.

I would also say that Craig is the easy choice for who to add for the next round.

I am very curious of where Craig will finish in the poll. He may not make my top 25.

Like several others this is a big year
