Unfortunately our best outfield in baseball never materialized. Now, undoubtedly the big market Milwaukee Brewers have the best OF in baseball.

Yelich, Lorenzo Cain, and Braun. 2 of them signed as free agents, the other was traded for.

Kudos to the Brewers for having the stones to try and compete. Must be those extra parking revenues...

and they are still in on Arrieta and Darvish. They ain't afraid of Chicago and St. Louis doing their thing.

We are the only team in baseball -- maybe in the history of baseball -- willing to enter a season with only 2 players who were actually trained to be major league outfielders.

And of those two, one is always hurt, and oh by the way he's very bad at defense, too.

So, yea, we're fine in the outfield and definitely should NOT try to sign or trade for anyone else.

Forget Braun, Domingo Santana will probably be their 3rd OF. That's a damn good OF in Milwaukee.

Completely forgot about Santana.   Just adds to the irresponsibility of this crazy move!!  They were already set in the OF!

You can't have an .830-.850 OPS 4th outfielder. (Braun) Just a total waste and mortgaging 2023 for now.

Not to mention the OF the traded was a top 25 and was ML ready. Definitely going to be better than Yelich

With Yellich and Cain added to their lineup they have become a very strong offense team in that hitters ballpark. My first thoughts are that that the Pirates will be lucky if they can beat the Cubs, Cards and Brewers about 7 times each this season. That total of 21 wins may be even on the high side. Depending on how the Reds do this season we are definitely the fourth place team in the division.

Are they looking to trade Braun? I am not sure why they went after Cain and Yelich. Santana is probably their best bat.

You have no idea if Brinson is going to be better than Yelich. He is a prospect. Yelich is a proven commodity. As a Pirates fan, I would have shipped Meadows for him in a package because I'm not sure Meadows will be Yelich.

So, they can't trade Santana? I think they can. These moves aren't irresponsible. These moves show they care.
