The magic number for his first game as a Pirate.

The Bucs need to lose a couple more games to secure the #1 pick. The Rangers are right on their tails.

If the Bucs and Rangers have identical records at the end of the season I wonder how the top pick would be determined? Possibly a coin toss.

Houston is up 5-0 on the Rangers in the second inning. The Rangers are going to be a game behind Pittsburgh after tonight.

They would catch BOB in the act of stealing the coin and give the Rangers first pick.

I was wondering the same and can only find something from 2009. The rule then was you revert back to the previous year . The team with the worst record would pick first. Texans had a better record , so if that rule prevails , we would pick first.



I think we are big favorits to finish no worse or no better (?) than tied for then worst record. To finish better or worse (?) than them , it would mean we win 2 of 3 from Cleveland and Texans are swept. Unlikely ....



That said if the 2 Vandy pitchers are said to be about equal , it would IMO be better to let Texas pick first as it's a given we would pick the wrong guy.

Pirates will draft Rocker and then sell him to the Steelers who will make him into a HOF QB . :-/

Texas beat the Astros in the tenth inning. Rangers now lead a Bucs by 2 games.

Even if they end up tied, Pirates get the #1 because they had a worse record than the Rangers in 2019
