2 players that may get some innings at second. Pretty surprised that Holmes was dealt before other players.

Good riddance. First Crick and now Holmes. Are the Pirates beginning to realize that relievers who routinely walk batters are not the answer? Sam (22 walks in 29.2 innings) Howard better watch out.

Both infielders have done rather well in the minors. Not many expected Holmes to be traded, so this may become a very interesting week. With all these infielders coming on board, I think we have seen the end of Cole Tucker.

Quick look at those two makes me wonder how in the world we got either one of them for homes let alone both.

I agree they seem above average prospects.

I didn’t think we could have received a bag of bagels for Holmes

This is an absolute steal for the Pirates

Park is at AAAScranton/Wilkes Barrie where he leads the league in hitting with a .327 avg, he lead is OBP, Walks, and ranks in the top 5 in runs scored and slugging. He has 11 HR, 10 Doubles, 32 RBI’s in just 58 games

Castillo 23 is hitting .277 with 18 Diubles, 11 HR, 32 RBI’s .850 OPS at AA

How did BC get this return for Holmes????

neither was listed in Fangraphs list of top 48 Yankee prospects in February.  Park is mentioned though in the others list:

Park is 24 and has an average contact/patience profile and 45 raw power. He might be someone’s bench infielder, but the Yankees big league roster is packed

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/top-48-pros ... k-yankees/

To me this is not a bad haul for Holmes.

the MLB Trade Rumors post on this ranks these prospects as Park at 31 and Castillo at 21 at time of swap. That means Fangraphs changed rankings quite a bit based upon performance this season
