Official Game Thread - 8/17 - Bucs @ Dodgers

The Pirates are now 2-14 in August. The remaining schedule for August and the Pirates records against those teams so far:
LA (1) 0-5
St.L. (7) 3-9
AZ (3) 0-3
White Sox (1) 1-1
12 more games in August against teams the Pirates have so far gone 4-18 against.
One would think the AZ games would be winnable but, then again, we're 0-3 against them. The 39-81 Dbacks must be eagerly awaiting that series.

Probably not
Getting the first or second pick is important
Not only for the players projected to be available but for the extra draft money. Those 3 games against the D-Backs will be crucial.
We may see 20 innings of 0-0 score as neither team may want to win.
