Bases loaded, loses a ball in the sun hit by Nelson Cruz, it drops, Cruz makes it to third, the throw goes into the dugout, and Cruz scores on a little league grand slam, all runs unearned as the ruling is a fielding error on Verdugo then a throwing error on Motter. The score changes from 7-1 to 7-5 as all the runners had reached after two outs.



In the top of the ninth, Verdugo tries to make a leaping catch against the wall on a drive by Austin Meadows, it's just out of his reach. It bounces off the wall, and Verdugo can't find the ball. Neither of the other outfielders are backing up, the shortstop has to come all the way out to get the ball, and Meadows beats the throw home with a game tying inside the park home run.

Just finished watching Colorado and Giants- Didn't realize Elias Diaz had 15 HRs. Was Huntington GM when we let him go. Can't remember. Am now taking Prevagen. Will let :Dyou know if it works.

He was non-tendered Dec 2019 and became a free agent. This one is technically on GMBC. I would put part of the blame on Bob though, because of the late hire for BC less than a month before Diaz was let go. He did nothing much of note in 2020, looking at his stats he clearly was the backup.



It's not a Coors field thing either, he's hit 8 at home, 7 on the road. He hit 7 HR's in July, and 4 in August. He clumped them together in July, hitting 3 in a 6 game stretch and then 4 in an 8 game stretch.



So it looks bad in a way for the Pirates, but it's two seasons removed.
