Make that 11 straight
Dusty Baker got his 2,000 career win last night. Sorry Shelty, some things in life are just not attainable!

Phillies had a 7-1 lead vs. the Mets going into the 9th. Mets scored 7 and won 8-7. At least we have Bednar!

Reds are 3-22.

I know it's not going to happen but, if my math's correct, that projects to a season record of about 19-143. I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to play an entire season and be that bad.

50 worst season records, Pirates appear 3 times: 7th worst in 1952 at 42-112; 36th in 2020 at 19-41; 50th in 1953 at 50-104.

Except for 2020, most of us have never seen a top 50 bad team all time, no matter how bad our seasons have been. Really puts it in perspective.

Right now, the Reds are in pace for the worst record ever. The Philadelphia Athletics hold that distinction right now with a 36-117 record in 1916.

For the Reds to surpass that, they need to win 36 more games to avoid the worst ever season. That's a .263 pace the rest of the way to accomplish that.

They still had players left over from last season who were solid guys, and a couple of them went on the IL recently. I don't think they are that bad, but time will tell.

The 1961 Phillies lost their first 23 games, and make the list at 25th with a 47-104-1 record. The Phillies appear 8 times on the 50 worst records all time, the Philadelphia Athletics 6 times.

The 1988 Orioles lost 21 to start the season, finished 54-107, and didn't make the list.

With 50 games against the Pirates, Cubs, Guardians, Nationals, and Orioles remaining, I think they'll avoid the worst ever record.

After taking 2 of 3 from our Pirates, the Reds thump the Brewers 10-5.

Not that it makes me feel any better, but, somehow it takes some of the sting away.

On the other end of the young pitcher spectrum, rookie Reid Detmers becomes the youngest Angels pitcher to toss a no no.

His teammates helped a bit.  12-0 (Rays.)

Way to early but Go Angels. If not the BUCS (ain't happening) I hope Mike Trout gets to play in the Playoffs.
