Today's pitching matchup:
Nova/Cain
Both starters were pretty terrible. Numbing, you might say.

Actually, Cutch catches that ball he lost in the sun, which led to 2 runs, and Nova wasn't that bad after the first. The difference in watching him is he gives up these long fly balls and I'm used to guys who tend to throw ground balls. But we also have a great OF that can chase a lot of them down (like in LA).

But you ruin the joke, then.
Heh, fine it was ruined already.

Sorry... I totally had to read it again!
You should get a crown or plaque for carrying the Nova/Cain joke further...

Is it just my imagination or has Cutch made a slight adjustment to his stance? Something seemed different. I didn't see the game- only the highlight- but it appeared slightly different. Maybe standing up more

If this season is destined to end up with a 4th straight wild card appearance, I do not want it to be in SF vs. Bumgarner. As of last night, the Dodgers passed SF and moved into 1st place for the first time in a long time. So SF now has a 3-game lead in WC race. We need them to win the West. I'd rather take my chances in LA than deal with Bumgarner again.
Look at it this way. It's the inverse of 2014. You could have the Giants and Dodgers burning through their aces down the stretch as they jostle for first in the NL West ... and all of a sudden they've got to start their version of Eddy Volquez in the WC game.

Don't know about his stance, but for sure he's adjusted his swing. I replayed the home run from today's game and the swing was compact and easy, whereas his swings this summer have been big and violent. today the ball leaped off the bat without trying to knock the cover off.
