Bucs hit 3 HR's. Davis, Endy, and Hall. Jones gives up a run in 2.2 IP.

Bucs fan 10 times.

Pirates doing no fees promotion for tickets through March 7th.

9 games down, 22 to go (counting two split squad days).

Shugart had a very tough outing. They hit him hard. Overall the Bucs are still striking out more than I would like. I guess striking out is part of today’s baseball game. I would rather see guys put the ball in play, rather than strikeout.

I thought they were striking out at record levels but they are middle of the pack for all teams.

Thanks for doing the research. If they can stay in the middle of the pack that would be an improvement. Maybe Matt Hague has begun helping some of the hitters.

Okay, should I start to worry? I thought the Pirates strength this year was to be their pitching. They've given up a lot of runs over the last few days.

These stats mean nothing. In ST, pitchers are often working on pitches and less concerned with results. The same holds true for opposing pitchers when some Pirate hitters are raking in ST.
Don't be disgruntled. Be gruntled.

Pirates have surrendered 34 runs in the last three games, yet are in the middle of the pack in MLB for runs allowed.

They have scored 58 runs, which puts them at 15th. They have given up 59.

Shugart and Mayza have been absolutely hammered so far, moving forward if they can't show improvement they have to be replaced, and it won't take much to upgrade.

Of course, in reality, you can't remove their numbers from the team. However, if you remove just Shugart and Mayza's results from the guys who are 40 man roster pitchers, their team ERA is 3.70. However, with those two, it balloons to 4.57 So in reality, it's two guys who have skewed the pitching numbers. I'm only counting the 40 man roster guys. That group has surrendered 31 ER in 61 IP. Remove Mayza and Shugart, it's 21 in 51. NRI guys mean nothing to me other than a couple of them replace guys like Shugart and Mayza.

Mayza is a problem though, because they signed him as a FA for 1.15 million and they aren't eating that. He could easily be replaced by Borucki.

Anybody gets MLB Network, tonight at 4 or 5 PM they will feature the Pirates and the Athletic. 30 teams in 15 days. Two powerhouses ;)

MLB didn't say who will be at 4 PM and who will be at 5 PM.
