Nutting Interview with Trib . . .

I like the post of Pinnocchio! That is the Pirates front office leadership to a t!

I'm thinking with smoke there is fire. Enough noise and certainly Manfred will have to at least check with "Bottom Line Bob" if nothing else to see how his investments are coming....

I have lived in Atlanta since 1980, originally from Marietta, OH where I grew up a Bucs fan and a big fan of Portsmouth, OH native Al "Scoops" Oliver. I'm still a Bucs fan and proud of it! Folks here comment to me all the time, sounds like your team needs a new owner! and Gosh, I would hate to be a Pirates fan with such a blockhead ( being kind here in my choice of words) for an owner....Geez, does your team always trade their best players for crap? And do you think Willie and Roberto would be playing with your current owner? I could go on and on. The entire USA knows that the Bucs are just playing to hold down the bottom tier of the NL Central plain and simple. No one is fooled by Nutting or his errand boy "No Deal Neal". If this team ever becomes a winner it will be due to a change in the leadership at the top...

Like IronMike and many others, I love baseball to much and the Pirates to not follow them heart and soul!!! But dangit, it is really tough to swallow all this......and smile and say, yes we are contenders! When we sure as heck look a lot like pretenders due to the ownership running the show... If you guys want to run Nutting out of town, count me in...I will bring the tar and feathers :D :o 8-), LOL.  Bucs Fan in GA...Beat'em Bucs

IIRC Fay Vincent got fired for doing just that and was replaced by one of their own, Bud Selig. Unfortunately, it's none of Manfred's business how Nutting chooses to operate his team. The owners are a club of rich guys having fun being the bosses of MLB. If some choose not to try very hard to win it makes it easier for those who do. Nutting can do whatever he wants. It's his team and none of his peers care, including the front man for his peers, Rob Manfred. If fans are hoping Manfred will put a stop to how Nutting operates, they're going to be disappointed.

This is my thought exactly. The one thing that maybe, might, possibly in a pipe dream happen is the other owners put pressure on Manfred to take away revenue sharing money. But, I don't ever see that happening.
