S-Rod isn't starting tonight. But neither is Meadows. He must be exhausted.

Thought I read that S Rod is still owed 2+M by the ball team. Probably hoping to unload him and his salary on someone but doubt he will be DFA. Have to safe that money for the ski lifts in the winter!

Yes, the season is nearly half over so he's been paid about 2.8 of his 5.75 million for the season. Plus, if he's replaced by, say, Max Moroff, it would only mean paying his replacement a half season of the $545,000 MLB minimum. Either way, they're stuck paying S-Rod. But it would be worth it to get better performance for just another $270,000.

Imagine how much better Cal Ripkin would have been had he not be forced to play in 2632 consecutive games?

Or even worse yet, he was forced to play 8243 consecutive innings. (June 82'- Sept 87')

Meadows needs a rest

Don't you know that Hurdle is smarter than everyone else?

The Orioles' Chris Davis is hitting .149. Wow, wouldn't it be great if S-Rod could get his average up that high?

That's funny.  Davis is making $23M this year -- and each of the next four years.  If SRod had that salary he would never sit out.
