It would be better for us to try and catch the Giants than being better than the Diamondbacks, don't you think?

While on the subject of the NL West, a similar situation that we faced (under Huntington, of course) when the Cardinals,, Pirates, and Cubs went beyond.  If the season ended today, the Dodgers and Padres would square off to see who goes onto the second playoff round.

Those are two paltry spenders there.

This tells me that The Cost Of Admission's not going down anytime soon.

Catching the Giants? You have a better chance of becoming a NUN !

I'd be working more toward THAT than working on fending off the D'backs.

That's me.  Others are different.  It's what makes the world go round.

With all this discussion about having the worst record for the 2022 draft, is there a consensus among draft "experts" for a candidate who is clearly ahead of the others? Or does it look like this year's draft where any one of 6 or 7 guys could turn out to be the gem of the draft?

I dont read many. The few that I have seem to think that there are around seven worthy candidates and that it depends on whether the Bucs want Pitching or Position, then MLB-Ready or Time Release.

If I was to guess, I'd guess "Time Release."

Which means that they'll go MLB-Ready.

I've seen some comments that a couple high school shortstops are best players in the long term.

However, unless the Bucs are certain about that I prefer they take the college player.

A college player should be ready sooner and fit into the "wave" of players that BC has added to the minor league system.

Wondering if anybody is pulling for the Oakland A's?????? Just watched Money ball again and if the BUCS won't do it ;) I sure would like Billy Beane to get a WS.

I think their payroll is about 80 million and they are in the hunt. A different owner and Billy in the Burgh would be sweet. ::)
