That concerns me too. They don't seem to know what to do with Davis, Gonzales, Trilo and even Andujar. Peguero is a SS but usually plays 2B so that Williams, who would seem to have no future with the team, plays SS. Rivas doesn't look like a keeper but plays a lot. Capra takes up space for no apparent reason. The organization banks on player development for any chance of future success. But their handling of players does not inspire confidence.Doc wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 10:52 pmThen why would they say they want to take a look at him at 1B? I’m okay with it if he can contribute but, if they don’t think he has the bat for either 1B or 3B, why would they even bother with him at all? It just seems like they neither have a plan nor know what they’re doing with some of these players.

There's no basement in the Alamo.

Bucs again load the bases with two outs but come up empty. Still 2-0 Bucs through four.

That really hurts!
Re: Official Game Thread - 9/12 - Bucs vs Nats
I thought the second half of this year was going to be dedicated to getting the players we know to be the future lots of at bats in order to be better prepared for 2024. Instead, it’s more like extended Spring Training, where guys who will spend all their professional years in the minor leagues are getting playing time (at the expense of the guys who need it). You mentioned the main suspects. It’s very disappointing and, frankly, inexcusable. Organizations that want to win wouldn’t do this.Bobster wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 11:38 pmThat concerns me too. An Endy double and singles by Palacios and Andujar get the Bucs a third run.

Time to break this wide open!
Re: Official Game Thread - 9/12 - Bucs vs Nats
Reynolds force play brings home a fourth run. Bucs still batting with two on.
Re: Official Game Thread - 9/12 - Bucs vs Nats
Suwinski called out on strikes on a pitch out of the strike zone. Bucs lead 4-1 after five.
Re: Official Game Thread - 9/12 - Bucs vs Nats
Wow, Falter back out to pitch the sixth.
Re: Official Game Thread - 9/12 - Bucs vs Nats
Falter retires the side in order in the 6th. Great job by him tonight, in less than 70 pitches. 4-1 Bucs
