I would STRONGLY, STRONGLY, STRONGLY advise everyone not to get your hopes up at this point.

The Pirates bullpen still has to get 12 outs.

The Pirates are prone to doing stupid things.

The Cardinals like to torture the Pirates.

Mercer reminds me SO much of Gene Alley. Same type of player offensively and defensively.

Matt Carpenter ties it in the 9th with an 0-2 2-out solo HR off of Tony Watson. That one stings.

Watson just gave up three HRs in the 9th inning.

9-6 Cardinals. They were one strike away from winning.
