Guys that could have value at the TDL he can flip for assets.

Guys who can be flipped at the deadline are guys who are playing well. Those guys add wins. Those extra wins could lead to the team picking second or third instead of first in the 2022 draft. That risk is not worth whatever prospects you could get for the rentals you'd have to trade.

Wouldn't rule out the Giants, Rockies, D'backs, Marlins, KC, or Baltimore either.

I know the Marlins made the play-offs last year, and the Giants were in the battle for a spot, but that was over a 60 game season - I wouldn't expect them to hold up for a full season, especially the Giants

Although more traveling would be involved, how about adjusting divisions based on previous season performance. For instance,

Pirates, Tigers, Orioles, KC and Marlins. As long as these inequities in team payrolls continue, this might be a way to keep fan interest. It's no secret that fan apathy is increasing.

Fully believe we will have the worst record in the majors, but to answer tour question ... Baltimore, KC, maybe Colorado, Detroit.

I agree with fjk about a veteran presence, especially during ST when many of the youth will be present. Need to provide wisdom with a light touch, such as the pitchers' flowing locks from last year.

Joe Musgrove brought a ton and he didn't add wins to the Pirates last year. Get an arm or arms that have had past success and had one bad year. Pitching is a premium at the TDL, especially for cheaper arms with no control. That is a route that BC should be thinking of.

How about this guy! Renato Nunez A minor league contract should not be out of the question. If he does work out and makes the roster he would be a good platoon guy with Moran at 1B. If he does not work out he can be released during the season.

As a player, one would never like to have the words "sub-par defender" associated with your name.
