All the off season noise regarding the Bucs has centered on two areas: Paul Skenes, and management not doing something noteworthy to bolster the offense.

What I find interesting as we now are in Wednesday and the season starts tomorrow, how little chatter there fas been of Oneil Cruz. Nothing about defensive gaffs or exceptional play. Nothing about his offense or base running. Has he actually reached fixture status like Reynolds? Meaning, satisfied knowing we'll see average to above average results, with the occasional elite level offense for spurts?

I hope this means it's a good thing.

They announced that Jared Jones will not need surgery but will not be available until most likely June.
I feel like Jones is one pitch away from TJ surgery.
With his velocity, spin rate, and violent delivery it’s only a matter of time. Hopefully he can remain healthy for the second half and help the Bucs make a playoff push.

Given his health issues, is Jones a candidate to switch to the relief side? Perhaps even as a closer?

Cruz barely played in the final week of ST. Instead, they had him play at the minor league camp to focus on hitting against LHPs.
Don't be disgruntled. Be gruntled.

Surge, as I've said before, his talent is other-worldly. He could be an all-time great. But as long as he keeps the attitude he has, as long as he remains one of the laziest players I've ever seen, he'll never reach the enormous potential he has. He'll forever be compared with Elly De La Cruz but, in the end, they'll be no comparison. EDLC will end up miles ahead of him even though I don't think he's as talented as Cruz.

That’s a good thought.
