Gamel has a hamstring issue now.



With injuries, the Pirates focus on guys being able to play more than one position payed off tonight. Marcano ended up in LF, and VanMeter went from first to second to first.



Worried about Chavis, he did play as a pinch runner and played first, but was PH for his turn at bat.

No game isn't complete without some interesting announcer stuff. Brown kind of stepped on the HR call by stumbling over the score of the game.



Brown and Walk fill a lot of air time, but give them credit when it's about baseball it's quite informative, as they were talking about the bunting situations for the Pirates in the top of the ninth.



On the San Diego broadcast, a lot of dead air in contrast. I loved how the Padres PBP guy on the television side used Brown's iconic, "Clear the deck, cannon ball coming" but in a very dead pan, dejected way. I'm guessing the two have dinner together every time these teams play, that was a nice homage.

I wake up this morning to see that the Bucs turn the tables on the Padres with a late-inning win. Just like a late loss like Friday's is my worst outcome, a late win is my favorite. Nice work, boys. Win the series today.

Nice to wake up and see that the Bucs won. With the injury to Chavis and I guess Gemmel injured his hamstring last night, it is time for Cruz and maybe Martin. Call in the reinforcements!

Pleasant surprise this morning to see that they won and how they won.



Agree about the bunting. It almost looked like Shelton was so afraid of a DP that he would rather limit Mitchell to 1 swing.

Wow, what a surprise. I was up briefly as it was heading to the 9th with them down 2 - 1 and thought is was over. Shame on me.
