Yesterday's Alphabet Game, O's & A's game in Oakland. The combined payrolls would rank 22nd in MLB.
Drew 3,700 fans.
Message? Nobody pays to watch garbage.

Yesterday Reds manager David Bell had catcher Tyler Stephenson bat 5th and his backup catcher Aramís García bat 9th as the DH. But Stephenson was injured in the 1st inning and had to leave the game. So García had to catch. The rules say that when a DH becomes a defensive player, the team loses the DH and pitchers must bat. And since the pitcher had to bat in place of the defensive player who left, that put the pitcher batting 5th. SP Reiver Sanmartin batted twice and 2 PHers were used after that. Reds lost 6-2. Very risky to have both catchers in the lineup with one as DH.

I wonder what the "Away" team's "take" is on 3,700 attendance. Can't be all that much, comparitively-speaking.
They could have all 3,700 in those sky high luxury suites that WWD sits in all the time, and it still can't be all that much.
I can see it now. BOB will refuse to go.

What has attendance been like at home games this year? I'm seeing a lot of empty seats.

Weather? School? Lockout backlash that some think was a strike? Inflation concerns? Bad team?
Probably a combo and more, I would think.
I wonder what the % Change for all of MLB will be this season.

Attendance will be interesting to watch this season. Pretty sure our current economy will have an impact. The BUCS will need a lot of incentives for the fans.

As much as I used to admire Miguel Cabrera, he pulled a Roethlisbergee hangs on about six years to compile stats.
He compiled hit #3,000 today on his way to get his plaque in Cooperstown. In his day, no one could touch him.
The next will be a long wait.

Name me:
A: A list of all the teams that have fireworks
B: The last "geezer 70's" band to perform after a game at PNC. In fact, seeing it's one of the tiredess tropes about the Pirates there is, can you even name last time the Pirates had a post game concert prior to the "reopening 2.0" thing every team did last season? Seeing as that wasn't exactly on the promo schedule, it doesn't count as part of the trope.
Take your time. There's a lot of them in A. It's been YEARS since the last one for B. I'll give you a hint: Cutch was still playing here.
Quit sounding like a typical yinzer
