Come on Freddy, there wasn't any legitimate excuse not to do the same thing this year and it didn't happen. They didn't even try. Took a waiver on a bullpen pitcher (nicasio) and a washed up never has been (vogelsong). Why would it be any different? They were similarly situated with payroll.
sure there is an excuse, all the proven players will cost too much, either in salary by year or length of contract.
The Bucs want to win (but so does every other team). The Bucs want to do it with a payroll of $100 million or less, other teams are willing to show they are willing to spend 120 or more to win.
