If the Bucs start Williams on Monday someone would have to be taken off the 40 man roster. If Brault is available it would be easier to recall him on Monday to pitch. We would just have to move someone off 25 man roster.

Please let it be Brault instead of Locke.

We're probably not going to win anyway (vs. Arrieta), but I would much rather watch Brault.

NH did a short announcement after the game saying it would be Brault.

Unless this year is a preview of things to come. In that case, losing him for a year would have little impact.

If his recent pitching performance is what we can expect from a healthy Cole going forward then the Bucs need to trade him ASAP before the rest of the league figures out he's a certified bum. Personally I'd find it surprising for a pitcher with his past success and pedigree to suddenly 'lose it' at age 25 without it being injury related.

Yeah just sneak a trade on mlb execs and professional scouts before they catch on to the knowledge that only us OBN insiders have!

Dave Littlefield works for the Tigers. I rest my case. ;D

Yes his season is off his 2015 standard, but to say he's having a "bad year" is a pretty strong overstatement. He's having a bad month, but has been solid but not spectacular prior to that.

What is Cole's contract status? If TJ is called for, that means next year is a lost year. Is he a free agent after that year or the following one?

Cole is eligible to become a FA in 2020.

After some thought, I wonder if this a PR move. Cole was hitting 97 mph in his last start. How does one do that on a bad elbow?

I don't know. Seems suspicious.

He does that by not being able to locate those 97 mph pitches.

I don't think he would throwing that hard with a bad elbow. Like I said, just speculation on my part. Just sounds fishy. It will get the fans and media off of him as he had that " not healthy" label.
