I would put about 12 losses directly on Hurdle including this one.

too bad about Broxton, I thought he had been sent to the minors.

May have been the coup de grace for this game.

Let's put the blame where is squarely belongs. It's not Hurdle; this offense is extremely inconsistent. It disappears for 3, 4, sometimes 5 games at a time. Poor offense, poor timely hitting means bye bye 2017

If the Pirates can't win the division, then I am pulling for Milwaukee to win it. At least they have "front row Amy"

Well the Pirates could afford to lose one game in this series to the Brewers they can't afford to lose another one tomorrow with Cole on the mound. In the grand scheme of things it probably won't mean much anyway to the Pirates but if they wanna continue to be relevant in this division race they really gotta win the game tomorrow afternoon in Milwaukee.

Freddy, how many times this season have you assessed what they need to do only do have them not do it?

Ah, Jaso. Nothing like having a .213 hitter bat for a .186 hitter.

the thing is if you look at the players, most are not having poor years compared to their careers. Only hitters that have had very good offensive years recently are Cutch, Marte, Cervelli and Harrison. Bell is having a better year than I expected power wise, Polanco hasn't performed up to expectations (but expectations may have been too high for him). Mercer is close to what he usually does as is Freese. Without Kang a middle of the pack line up becomes a poor one.

Remember the plan to have a high OBA team last year? Stats show the Pirates have a low batting average team with low power and not much speed.

This teams needs the outfield and first to be great because of holes at short, third and catcher.
