You can’t get swept in 2 straight 4 game series in a row on the road especially after you rebounded to get back what you lost in Philly last week by winning 5 in a row and sweeping the Cards. The only thing that will salvage this road trip for me will be winning 2 of 3 in Milwaukee and taking both games against the White Sox next week in Chicago. The Bucs after that come home and play 15 of their next 18 games at home to finish up the month of May. So still time to tight the ship again but these sweeps on the road simply cannot continue if you wanna be a winning team.

These losses are frustrating because the team started winning early and gave us hope that all the negative expectations were wrong. But this is still the team with problematic hitting, pitching and fielding. I don't like the losses but they don't surprise me as much as the winning did.

I asked for only ONE thing from the Pirates on this 9-game trip. Just one thing. DON'T. GET. SWEPT.

Just win one game in each city and get home 3-6 (and 20-17 overall).

But I guess winning 1 of 4 vs. the 12-16 Nationals was too much to ask.

Very disappointing ...

Hey the Buccos are 17-7 this season in games not played in Philly or DC!!

You live in a fantasy world the fact is you can't just pretend 8 loses didn't happen.   This owner and this franchise fans are going to get a good dose of reality this year when fans don't show up to support a losing franchise.  A real baseball man wouldn't give the 2 most responsible for this disaster 4 year contracts, Nutting knows nothing about baseball and he proves that when he listens to all the garbage these 2 incompetents put out.

You mean, the same two guys that ended a franchise 20 year losing streak and went to the Playoffs three years in a row?  Why are you erasing the three winning years and pointing out this year?  Where was this post when they were in first place for 20 days in a row?  Where was this post before this series with Washington?
Dog, how many parades are we supposed to throw for 3 winning seasons that all quickly flamed out in the playoffs followed by 3 more years of the way they were before they ended the losing streak? They got plenty of credit for those 3 seasons. That was then. This is now.

I am not saying anything about a parade.  I am answering why Nutting still employs Hurdle and Huntington.  It's just funny these remarks are made by the same people every time they lose some games.

Many (23) predicted this rebuilding team would be even better than last year. A few (12) predicted they would be worse.

Didn't NH tell us this was not a rebuilding year? And Dog, your defense of TBMTIB is always the same: that they made the team good a few years ago. Does that qualify them for lifetime jobs? Will there ever be a time when that brief and limited success of several years ago will not qualify them for praise in the present?

It means they can do it again.  Why would Nutting think he doesn't have the right guys in place after they made that little run?

The good outweighs the bad.  Until that changes, I wouldn't expect Nutting to fire everyone.  I am not sure why others think he would fire them either (my questions never get answered, remember?  crap, another question).

Huntington says something people agree with, he is not lying.  If he says something people don't agree with, he is lying.  Weird how that works.

This was a bad series against the Nationals.  It was a bad series against the Phillies too.  They rebounded after Philadelphia.  Why can't they rebound again?  They lost five in a row at one point and then won five in a row.  But now they are done this time?  They were supposed to be done last time.

hmm, I guess the Pens screwed up by firing Shero. This was first game that Hellickson (who is definition of mediocre starter) didn't give up at least 2 runs. Went 1/3 of an inning longer than he did in any of his other 3 starts too.

Then I suppose if TBMTIB presides over another 20 year losing streak, they should never be replaced because they did it once so they can do it again.
