Being a guy who has played since age 14 (72 now), many of those years, up to 6 days a week I have never been visited by the golf god providing me with an "Ace". I have been in foursomes a total of 5 times where one of the guys got the "ace". I have been inches from an "ace" on several occasions. So I empathize with you and will be praying to that great golf god in the sky.

You can pray all you want for him, Possum, he's never going to get one. I don't have one, either, so Shed and I have a standing $20 arrangement. First one to get one wins $20 from the other. My money is as good as being in a bank vault.

________ I

I was playing with a guy last year who was 86 years old and he made a hole in one. Afterwards, I was talking to him and I asked him "how many hole in ones have you had?" He said 2. I asked him if the other one was a long time ago? He said no, the other one was last year. So, at 71, I still have hope

I love your tenacity, delusional as it may be. You're not getting one and I'm not getting one. We'll both die with those $20 bills in our pockets.

Maybe if you kick a can down a road without anything in your wallet it will bring you some good luck. Just trying to be helpful.

_______

Assuming that I play 3 rounds per week for 8 months of the year and assuming that I live to 100 years old, that means I will have almost 12,000 chances.

Trouble is, for players of our caliber, a hole-in-one is a 10 million to one chance. So, by my calculations, playing three times per week eight months out of the year, you'd have to live to be a jillion.

If Jon Rahm can skip one ever a lake for a hole in one, why can't I get one?

I'd say it's because you don't play like Jon Rahm.
