Actually opening day is the 7th. Pirates home opener the 12th.
Hate the DH in NL. I wonder what the Pirates will do with this spot?
Draft lottery.
Pay increases for rookies.

My only hope is that this agreement is enough to get BOB to put the team for sale.

The nuts and bolts are likely that little has changed to make competition more equitable. Pirates fans everywhere are losers once again.

It would be stupid for a club to agree to give a competitor an advantage. Even more stupid to expect one from a competitor.

I would say the Pirate fans are net losers: the DH will make strong teams stronger and the cheapskates (ie, Pirates) less competitive 1-9.

We're at our self-imposed disadvantage regardless of who is sent up to bat.
Adding a club to post-season play is a help, in theory. Eleven is easier than ten.

Yeah. I looked right past the addition of teams to the playoffs. That will make a huge change in August and September.

I'm not a big supporter of watering-down the playoffs, but I can live with it.
The owners who are Type A's will still "go for it" in hopes of winning it all.
My concern, though, is with the others. If it's not hard to make it, will they maintain their aggressiveness.....or, just coast in?
I suppose that we'll see some of both.
