Even Joe Morgan didn't become JOE MORGAN until after 9 fairly ordinary years with the Astros. Let's not expect too much too soon but Johnson seems to have the tools.

Which is why these young players have to be given ample opportunities to prove themselves. It's so easy for any of us to want immediate results, especially when we see young guys with other clubs performing like All Stars right away. Bu that's not the norm. That's why I'm opposed to bringing in veterans who're past their prime, taking up playing time over young guys who need to get past the growing pains as soon as possible. If the Pirates want to sign veterans, make them be guys who are still young enough and can make a big difference, like Cody Bellinger.
