CSN was designated for assignment by the Mariners today. He didn’t last very long with them.
Re: The Departed
They needed a roster spot. If he clear waivers, he can go to their AAA team. But he will probably not clear waivers.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 7:52 pm CSN was designated for assignment by the Mariners today. He didn’t last very long with them.
There's no basement in the Alamo.

CSN coming back is good ! That guy might have something with the bat ?
Re: The Departed
Sad news. He was spectacular in his first year here. Am I remembering correctly that he took no hitters deep into several games that year? He looked like he was going to be special for a long time.

Re: The Departed
He sure did.
Pitching for the Cards against the Reds in 1989, DeLeon pitched eleven shutout innings while facing the minimum 33 batters, yielding only a single.
DeLeon was called up to cover an injury or some such, and after blowing the opposition away a reporter asked Chuck Tanner if DeLeon would go back down once everyone was healthy. Tanner replied, "If he does, I'm going with him."
Quite a while later, DeLeon got sent down, and Tanner stayed in Pittsburgh.

The well-named "Bullfrog" He pitched only four seasons in the majors, never had a losing record.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 12:07 am Larry Demery who pitched in the 70s for the Bucs has passed.
Demery joined the team in June, 1974, and made 15 starts, including a two-month run beginning in mid-July when he went 6-2 in the middle of a tight pennant race.
