has that ever been a predictor? Rangers last season?

I might be mistaken but in the article the author admitted he hadn’t gotten any of his predictions right when he tried to pick the future World Series winners a few years back. Trying to pick the next 10 winners can’t be considered a serious endeavor. I chalk this up to trying to fill time before Spring Training begins.

Bednar, Keller and Connor Joe have agreed to contracts leaving only Oliveras to settle with the Pirates.

Olivares just settled so the Pirates have settled with all 4 players who were eligible for arbitration.fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 6:43 pm Bednar, Keller and Connor Joe have agreed to contracts leaving only Oliveras to settle with the Pirates.

I'm guessing unless it's a trade, all of you who keep hoping for a FA signing will probably have to wait till ST begins, and two spots open when Endy and Oviedo go on the 60 day IL, and maybe a third one with Brubaker.
The fact that some pretty good FA's haven't signed tells me a lot of teams may be doing the same thing.
Be patient my friends. The promised land (the playoffs!) is near. But a 10-14 game jump going to be tough.

The way free agent pitchers keep signing with other teams, I expect the Pirates to sign a free agent pitcher very soon. There are players on the 40 man roster which they could remove, one of which is Williams the utility shortstop.Surgnbuck wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 7:28 pm I'm guessing unless it's a trade, all of you who keep hoping for a FA signing will probably have to wait till ST begins, and two spots open when Endy and Oviedo go on the 60 day IL, and maybe a third one with Brubaker.

I keep expecting to see a trade of some sort to get a younger SP - the Marlins get mentioned a lot. With four 2B prospects I just think we'll shop one along with some of our minor league depth for someone a bit younger than all the older FA possibilities.

Sounds like a good plan Utah.UtahPirate2 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 3:51 pm I keep expecting to see a trade of some sort to get a younger SP - the Marlins get mentioned a lot.
