Another lefty. I like that BC has acquired another one, plus a couple of lefty hitters, too.

Right now we have two left handed pitchers in the starting rotation. The previous left handed pitchers have had success with the Pirates. Hopefully it continues this season. It would be perfect if they could acquire or sign a right hander for the rotation, and then fill in the fifth spot with either Priester, Ortiz or Contreras.

By bringing these two veteran pitchers on board I wonder if the Pirate Brass was thinking how they could be tutors for their two Latin pitchers, Ortiz and Contreras.

Yeah, well they were also probably thinking that they literally can't fill the roster with the one SP they had by the end of the season . . .fjk090852-7 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 1:51 am By bringing these two veteran pitchers on board I wonder if the Pirate Brass was thinking how they could be tutors for their two Latin pitchers, Ortiz and Contreras.

When they officially announce the signing of Perez, and Cutch two players will have to be taken off the 40 man roster. One of the players could be Alika Williams, but if they make a trade from some of their surplus infield players he may remain on the roster for depth.
