Rowdy Tellez
What is GMBC thinking in signing the overweight bum? He may make a comeback with his power but he can't field worth a crap. He sure as hell won't help O Cruz with his scatter arm.
They should have brought back Carlos Santana for his slugging ability from the left side and more importantly his immaculate defensive abilities. In addition, Santana is a great clubhouse addition. Maybe they should try to swing a deal with Guardians for Josh Naylor who is way younger than either Tellez or Santana and could be the long-term answer at 1B for the Bucs. That won't happen because Nutting is CHEAP.

I like the signing. Good cheap move.
Re: Rowdy Tellez
You should have capitalized the word cheap Surg. That is right up BOB's alley. CHEAP! How is Mr. Man doing?

Re: Rowdy Tellez
Mister Man is doing great thank you. He's getting the kind of grades he should have all along, so the transition to high school has been a positive one. He teaches the Little Dragons at the dojo on Tuesday and Thursday, and the kids love him, and he does so well with them. They even chipped in to buy his new puppy doggy treats!
Speaking of CHEAP BOB, I was saying to WWD that BOB must have hated the Dodgers got Ohtani, as ticket prices were already posted, and can't be raised now. Dodgers in on a Tues-Thurs set, and BOB I know would have loved to charge the premium series weekend prices. One of the games is practically sold out!

Re: Rowdy Tellez
I will admit when I heard that the Pirates signed Tellez in December, I thought he might bring power to the lineup and zero in on the Clemente Wall. As of now, he has been a huge disappointment. In my opinion,if he doesn’t break out of his slump by the end of this important road trip, his days as a Pirate may be over, and Jake Lamb may join the team a week from Tuesday.
Re: Rowdy Tellez
I guess we all hoped that his signing was more than the typical dumpster dive. But that’s what the evidence pointed to. In the past two years, he batted .219 and .215. The guy just can’t hit. But he did have 35 HRs two years ago. But he only had 13 last year. When a guy hits as poorly as Tellez, it takes a lot of pitchers’ mistakes to hit 35 HRs while batting a meager .219. What we got is a guy who simply can’t hit. Which we pretty much knew when they signed him. Not the kind of guy you add to a weak hitting team to make it stronger. Ditto for Taylor, Grandal and Bart. The Pirates were a weak hitting team last year and adding more weak bats only made the situation worse. But somehow, our GM thinks he’s smarter than everyone else.
